Stephen Hall is an artist
based in Savannah Georgia.

Mr. Hall began painting in September 2018 not long after retiring from his position as a professor of advertising and branding at Savannah College of Art and Design. Inspired by the works of Takanori Oguiss, Edward Hopper and Paul Cezanne, he began by drawing and painting scenes of buildings, streets and locations. His subsequent work has expanded to include close-ups of agave plants, whimsical illustrations and still lifes.

Mr. Hall attended Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied Communication Design and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1976. Following a 25-year career as a designer and art director in advertising he attended Syracuse University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Advertising Design in 2004.

Although his professional career has long been in the applied arts, Mr. Hall has also pursued both photography and printmaking for many years. Since 2018 his passion has been painting.
